Throughout Wolven, a fierce and yet vulnerable character of a wolf woman emerges. The moon rises and melts in her hands. And she can turn herself inside out. You, as the audience, watch her as she dissolves the night with her own heat. She performs a series of actions that are at once mythic and mundane. Even as she takes her body extremes, but always returns to the simple act of literally holding herself, and you are somehow holding her, too. Each alone and yet together. Textured 35mm slide projection and a deep, pounding sound propel the piece into its culminating ritual gestures, as the moon rises and melts, rises and melts.
